PROCESS FOR PRODUCING FUNCTIONALIZED POLYMERS

A method for manufacturing a functionalized polymer is provided to reduce the danger of over-polymerization while not losing the control for monomer conversion and polymer molecular weight and to obtain a functionalized polymer having a target property by allowing enough time for the reaction with a polymer and a functionalizing agent. A method for manufacturing a functionalized polymer comprises (a) a step for forming the polymerization mixture by introducing a monomer and coordination catalyst to a reactor; (b) a step for polymerizing at least a part of the monomer in the presence of a catalyst; (c) a step for adding Lewis base to the polymerization mixture after polymerizing the monomer; and (d) a step for adding a functionalizing agent to the functionalizing agent.
