APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MEASURING HOME CELL/PRIVATE NETWORKS IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

An apparatus and a method for measuring home cell/private networks in a mobile communication system are provided to perform measurement by using information of shared cells regionally overlapped in accessible home cell/personal network cell transmitted according to a service request of the terminal. A terminal(301) performs measurement of shared cells regionally overlapped in home cell/personal network cell based on a TA update response message(321). The terminal does not perform measurement with regard to the home cell/personal network cell indicated by the TA update response message in a condition that a channel state of a searched shared cell is not higher than a critical value#1(323). The terminal performs measurement of the shared cell regionally overlapped in the home cell/personal network cell based on the TA update response message(331). The terminal periodically performs measurement at period#1 with regard to the home cell/personal network cell indicated through the TA update response message in a condition that the channel state of the searched shared cell is higher than the critical value#1 but not a critical value#2. The terminal performs the measurement of the shared cell regionally overlapped in the home cell/personal network cell based on the TA update response message(341). The terminal periodically performs measurement at period#2 with regard to the home cell/personal network cell indicated through the TA update response message in a condition that the channel state of the searched shared cell is higher than the critical value#2(343).
