A backlight unit and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to mount luminous elements at exact positions, thereby reducing light loss and realizing a simple process. Luminous elements(11) emit light. A light guide plate(30) is integratedly formed in connection with the luminous elements. A reflector(20) is located on a lower side of the light guide plate. A diffusion plate(40) and a prism sheet(50) are arrayed on an upper side of the light guide plate. A display panel(60) is positioned on the upper side of the light guide plate. The light guide plate is formed in oblong plate shape. The light guide plate is made of metacril isomer oligomers. |
