POLYHYDROXY COMPOUNDS AS POLYMERIZATION QUENCHING AGENTS

A method for manufacturing a polymer is provided to reduce the contamination of the recirculated monomer by introducing a little of polyhydroxy compound as a quencher to an active polymerization mixture. A quenching method of an active polymerization mixture comprises a step for introducing a polyhydroxy compound to an active polymerization mixture. A method for manufacturing a polymer comprises (a) a step for forming an active polymerization mixture containing solvent less than 20 weight % by introducing a monomer and catalyst; and (b) a step for adding a polyhydroxy compound to the active polymerization mixture.
