SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CALL SETUP IN VOIP NETWORK

A call set-up system of a VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) network and a call set-up method are provided to maintain a corresponding VoIP service in case of using an additional service for a short time while using the VoIP service, and maintain a VoIP call continuously. A transmission terminal(220) connects to a VoIP network to transmit/receive data, and then sends a call waiting message according to the selection of a user in a state that a VoIP session is established. In case the call waiting message is received, a receiving terminal(320) is converted into a call standby state so that the connection between the transmission terminal and the VoIP session can be maintained. A media server performs a control operation so that an RTP(RealTime Protocol) packet and an RTCP(Realtime Transport Control Protocol) packet can be transmitted and received through the VoIP session. The media server receives the call waiting message from the transmission terminal, and then transmits the received message to the receiving terminal.
