The device has an envelope (1) formed by rectangular shaped upper and lower parts positioned on side of individual body (13) and an air mattress (3), respectively. The upper part (1-1) is made of material forming a barrier impermeable to air and liquid water and permeable to water vapor. The lower part is made of material permeable to water vapor. The lower part has an air injection port (4) and air discharging perforations (5) with perforated/porous zones permeable to air. An intermediate part (2) inside an inner chamber is made of a layer of non-woven fiber material e.g. polyester wadding. An independent claim is also included for a method for regulating the humidity on the surface of a mattress or cushion type support element and in vicinity of body of individual resting on element.
