A muffler is provided to absorb high frequency noise of exhaust gas whereby a plurality of penetration holes are formed on a single side baffle partitioning off the chamber and glass wool is filled in the front chamber. A muffler comprises two baffles(2a,2b) dividing a housing(1) into a front chamber, a rear chamber and a middle chamber, an inlet pipe(3) which passes through the two baffles and has a plurality of holes connected with the middle chamber, and an outlet pipe(4) having a U shape passing through the chambers. The outlet pipe includes a neck(4a) having a relatively small diameter on one end. A through hole is formed on the baffle partitioning off the front chamber and the middle chamber. Glass wool(5) is filled in the front chamber.
