An organic electro luminescence display device is provided to control the brightness of a display automatically when the ambient light is changed. A photo sensor(10) senses the ambient light. A controller(30) controls a brightness control signal applied to a sub-pixel for controlling the brightness according to the output of the photo sensor. A display unit(20) includes a plurality of single pixels(21). The sub pixel for the image display is driven by a data signal. The sub pixel for the image display is driven by the brightness control signal applied from the controller. The sub pixel for the image display is composed of R, G, B sub pixels of red, green, and blue. The sub pixel for controlling the brightness is composed of R', G', B' sub pixels of the red, blue, and green. The sub pixel for the image display and the sub pixel for controlling the brightness are arranged adjacently according to the colors. |
