The material has a surface with an identification unit (18) i.e. thin imprint, to indicate positioning of a metallic pollutant element (16), where the element and the material are made of an incompatible material for mechanical recycling of the material, and the material is in the form of multilayer composite, part or sub-assembly of a vehicle equipment. The identification unit is visible by an operator during disassembling of a motor vehicle, and includes a cutting line or a mark (20) for locating the pollutant element. An independent claim is also included for a method for selectively separating a recyclable material.
