PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lane recognition apparatus capable of improving the certainty of specifying a lane, on which a vehicle is traveling, and to provide a navigation apparatus capable of performing processing in accordance with the lane recognized by the lane recognition apparatus. SOLUTION: In the lane recognition apparatus 100, a feature extraction part 12 generates a bird's-eye image from image data obtained by photographing the periphery of a vehicle and extracts feature portions on the road in the bird's-eye image. An unnecessary feature deletion part 18 deletes feature portions corresponding to portions other than white lines on the road out of the feature portions. A white line recognition part 20 recognizes the absolute positions of white lines on the basis of the remaining feature portions corresponding to the white lines on the road and a lane specification part 22 specifies a lane on which the vehicle is traveling.
