PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeder capable of attaining enhancement of operation feeling by equalizing load in drawing out operation of a paper feeding cassette. SOLUTION: In the paper feeder, the detachable paper feeding cassette is provided on a storage part 35 formed on an image forming device body, a paper stacking plate pivotable around a fulcrum; a spring for pushing up the paper stacking plate; a bottom lock mechanism for locking pivoting of the paper stacking plate by a bottom part of the paper feeding cassette; and a lock lever 36 for pivoting the paper stacking plate around a fulcrum are provided. The lock lever 36 is engaged with a cam surface 37a of a guide plate 37 at the image forming device body side in attachment/detachment action of the paper feeding cassette relative to the image forming device body. The paper stacking plate is pivoted interlocked with attachment/detachment action of the paper feeding cassette. A cam surface 37a of the guide plate 37 is made into a curved surface shape such that a push-down amount of the paper stacking plate relative to a draw-out stroke of the paper feeding cassette is gradually reduced.
