PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning rod which is simple in attaching or detaching operation of a balance means and is superior in operability. SOLUTION: This spinning rod includes a butt stopper 20, capable of being screwably attached to the rear end portion 1a of a spinning rod 1; a circular balance means, disposed in a state capable of being held on the butt stopper 20 for adjusting the weight of the spinning rod 1 in the axial direction; and a cylindrical grip portion 10, which comprises a flexible member, is attached to the outer periphery of the rear end portion 1a to rearward extend the rear end portion 1a and has a hollow portion 11, in which the butt stopper 20 and the balance means are disposed, is such that the inner peripheral surface 11a of the hollow portion 11 has an internal diameter enabling the press-fitting of the peripheral portion of the balance means; the balance means is pushed in the hollow portion 11 by tightening treatment due to the screwing of the butt stopper 20 in the axial direction of the spinning rod 1 and is held at a prescribed holding position; and a frictional resistance P1 caused between the mutually facing surfaces of the butt stopper 20 and the balance means is set to be less than a frictional resistance P2, caused by press-fitting between the peripheral portion and inner peripheral surface 11a of the balance portion.
