The detector arrangement (7) has two single-layer receivers (8,9), which lie one behind the other in the beam path (3) of the gas analyzer (1). One single-layer receiver contains the measuring gas component and the other single-layer receiver contains a transverse gas. An evaluation unit (18) is provided to determine the concentration of the measuring gas component by comparison of n-tuples of signal values (S1,S2) obtained with the n-tuples of signal values stored in a calibration matrix (32) during unknown concentration of the measuring gas component. An independent claim is also included for a method for detecting a measuring gas component in a gas mixture.
