A water stop valve device where a strainer can be extremely easily maintained and replaced. The water stop valve device (10) includes a water stop unit (23) and an operation unit (27). The water stop unit (23) has a water stop valve device body (20) incorporating a water flow path (21) also has and an on/off valve spindle (22) rotatably installed in the water stop valve device body (20) and moving forward and backward in the direction of its axis as it rotates, opening and closing the water flow path (21). A hexagonal column-shaped engagement section (26d) for allowing a tool to engage with it is formed on the outer periphery of the holding member (26).
