<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for carrying out methane fermentation without converting biomass waste to a liquid substrate and a method for operating the apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention provides a biogas production apparatus for carrying out drying fermentation utilizing carbon dioxide-containing discharge gas from the outside and for producing a biogas from a biomass by providing at least one fermentation tank, and provides a method for stopping the fermentation tank and a method for starting the fermentation tank. When the biomass in the fermentation tank is exhausted, it is required that biogas production is stopped and the fermented biomass is discharged from each fermentation tank and fresh biomass is packed into the fermentation tank. It is required that explosive biogas/outside mixture is not produced while charge and discharge of the biomass is carried out in each fermentation tank from reason on safety in the above processes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
