PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical subassembly capable of obtaining desired optical coupling even when the optical subassembly provided with a photoelectric conversion module is a coaxial type. SOLUTION: The optical subassembly 1 having a coaxial package provided with an optical module 20 for mounting LD 21 having an photoelectric conversion function includes: a sleeve 10 stored in an optical fiber holding member such as a stub 11 holding an optical fiber 11a; and a parallel flat plate glass 40 interposed between the optical module 20 and the optical fiber 11a. An optical axis A of the sleeve 10 and a center axis B of the optical module 20 are matched, and a normal of two parallel faces of the parallel flat plate glass 40 has an angle with the optical axis B. An optical path (a) between the optical module 20 and the parallel flat plate glass 40 has an angle to the optical axis B and is connected by the parallel flat plate glass 40 to an optical path (b) between the parallel flat plate glass 40 being an optical path parallel to the optical path (a) and the optical fiber 11a.
