PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin for toner superior in fixing properties, high temperature-resistant offset properties, and pulverization properties. SOLUTION: The resin for toner includes a styrene based monomer unit, a (meth)acrylic acid ester based monomer unit, and trimethylolpropane tri(meth)acrylate based monomer unit, wherein a residue derived from organic peroxides in the resin is≤3,000 ppm, a local maximum value in the molecular weight distribution of soluble parts of tetrohydrofuran by gel permeation chromatography is≤25,000.
