PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a burner capable of keeping both an improvement in the stability of a flame and a reduction in NOx emission at a high level. SOLUTION: In this burner, a fuel nozzle 4 for injecting fuel is provided in the central part of the burner 1, a plurality of air jet orifices 7 for injecting combustion air are provided in a ring shape in the vicinity of the outer edge of the burner, and the fuel supplied from the fuel nozzle 4 and the combustion air supplied from the air jet orifices 7 are mixed to perform combustion. The ring-like arranged air jet orifices are disposed in a zigzag, or the air jet orifices are disposed so that a large bore diameter and a small bore diameter are alternately aligned, whereby the air jet orifices are arranged so that a long distance from the central part of the burner and a short distance from the central part of the burner are alternately aligned.
