The present invention refers to oligonucleotide probes hybridizing with ribosomal RNA of microorganisms and a diagnostic kit comprising said oligonucleotide probes. Furthermore, the invention refers to a process for detecting and/or discriminating at least one microorganism in a sample. These oligonucleotide probes, in particular, can be used for the detection of bacteria of the genusenterococcus.
