<p>A storage device which reads data from and/or writes data on a portable recording medium. The storage device comprises a first loading tray, a second loading tray, and an access portion. The first loading tray has a mounting surface against which the non-recording surface side of the portable recording medium is abutted. The second loading tray has a mounting surface which is parallel to the mounting surface of the first loading tray and against which the recording surface side of the portable recording medium is abutted. When the portable recording medium is mounted on the second loading tray, it is mounted in such a manner that the recording surface may face in the same direction as it does when the portable recording medium is mounted on the first loading tray.The access portion is disposed on the recording surface side and accesses the recording surface of the portable recording medium whether the portable recording medium is mounted on the first loading tray or on the second loading tray.</p> |
