A method for detecting an error of routing cost in a signal routing path and a network management system for the same are provided to detect an error history of routing cost automatically by collecting signal route information for each communication network signal device and inspecting whether or not a routing cost value used as the information for bypass communication is normally registered according to the setting rule of routing cost. A signal route collecting unit(110) collects signal route information from each signal device which exists in plural operating stations and stores the collected signal route information at a signal route database(120). In addition, the signal route collecting unit request a DPC grouping unit to start detecting an error of RC value by using collected signal route information. The DPC grouping unit(130) groups the signal route information, which is collected at a signal route database, in same DPC by signal device unit, and transfers the signal route information having the same DPC to an error detecting unit(140). The error detecting unit arranges the signal route information, which is outputted from the DPC grouping unit, based on the RC value, inspects whether each RC value is registered proper to a first rule or a second rule, and provides an error informing unit(150) with the information which is wrongly registered. The error informing unit outputs the output information of the error detecting unit to an operating terminal(200) so that a corresponding operator may correct the RC value of a signal device having an error.
