摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a period of time needed for color balance adjustment of an active matrix type display device including light emitting elements as display elements. <P>SOLUTION: This color balance adjusting method includes: stages S1 to S3 of writing a maximum video signal to the first to third pixels to make them emit light in order and measuring luminances and chromaticities by light emission colors; a stage S4 of re-setting levels of reference currents I<SB>R</SB>, I<SB>G</SB>, and I<SB>B</SB>used as a reference for the level of a video signal based upon measurement results of the stages S1 to S3 so that when the maximum video signal is written to the first to third pixels to make them emit light at the same time, the luminances and chromaticity have ideal values; a stage S5 of writing the maximum video signal to the first to third pixels to measure luminances and chromaticities; and a stage S6 of re-setting the levels of the reference currents I<SB>R</SB>, I<SB>G</SB>, and I<SB>B</SB>so that the power consumption W during the measurement in the stage S5 is less than an upper-limit value if measurement results of the stage S5 are within an allowable range and the power consumption W exceeds the upper-limit value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
