PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding die by which a desired fine shape is formed without damaging a molding material with a simple constitution and which does not damage a fine shape of the die, and to provide a molding method using the molding die. SOLUTION: In the molding die having the fine shape wherein the shape is transferred to the molding material by pressurizing and releasing the molding material, at least the shape of release-starting edge surface where a fine shape area starts a release is formed as tooth-shaped indentations, in a boundary line between the fine shape area in which the fine shape is worked and an unworked area adjacent to the fine shape area, in which the fine shape is not worked.
