PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coal ash-containing thermoplastic resin composition in which a plated surface of a molding machine having a chrome-plated screw and cylinder are not corroded even if molding is performed and a hydrolizable thermoplastic resin can be also used, a molded article formed using the composition, and a method for manufacturing the molded article from the composition. SOLUTION: The coal ash-containing thermoplastic resin composition comprises a mixture of a plurality of thermoplastic resins and a coal ash incorporated therein and the thermoplastic resin composition contains polyvinyl chloride as a part of the thermoplastic resin. In the composition, a content ratio of polyvinyl chloride relative to the whole amount of the thermoplastic resin is preferably 0.01-5 mass%, and at least one selected from the group consisting of polyethylene, polypropylene and polystyrene is preferably contained in the thermoplastic resin. The coal ash-containing thermoplastic resin molded article is formed by molding a melted kneaded product of the composition, and is formed by melting/kneading and molding the composition.
