PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side sliding door device for a railroad vehicle considerably shortening an adjustment time while accurately and surely adjusting a side sliding door by moving the side sliding door vertically and in a thickness direction with respect to a door-hanging metal with simple operation in a state of suspending the side sliding door from an upper rail, that is, without supporting the side sliding door by an operator. SOLUTION: Door hanging metal fittings 5 are arranged slidably in the thickness direction on the upper face of a mounting member integrally fixed to the upper end of the side sliding door 2 through mounting bolts 10. Each door-hanging metal fitting 5 is provided with set screws 18 with the screw tips abutting on a contact plate 16 integrally provided at the door-hanging metal fitting 5 and retractably in the thickness direction on both sides of a fixed plate erected upward from the upper end of the mounting member in a position which corresponds to each door-hanging metal fitting 5. Drawing screws 17 penetrating both side parts of each fixed plate 15 are screwed with the contact plate 16, and lifting mechanisms 9, 12, 13 of the side sliding door 2 are interposed between each door-hanging metal fitting 5 and the mounting member to integrally connect the door-hanging metal fitting 5 to the mounting member together with the lifting mechanisms 9, 12, 13 by the mounting bolts 10.
