PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head device that simplifies the structure of a winding mechanism for winding a magnetic tape around a rotary drum, and correctly records a signal using a plurality of magnetic tapes having different tape widths. SOLUTION: An outer circumferential portion of the rotary drum 52 is divided into a plurality of portions in a thickness direction thereof. As a result, N (N is a natural number of 1 or more: e.g., 2) recording heads 53a to 53d are provided in each of a first annular region 61a and a second annular region 61b that are annular along a circumferential direction of the rotary drum 52.
