PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stiffening device with which a further improvement in the steering stability of a vehicle is achieved. SOLUTION: This stiffening device 200 is provided between right and left shock absorber supporting portions 31 formed in a vehicle body 1. The stiffening device 200 includes a right side shaft 220 and a left side shaft 210 fixed to the right and left shock absorber supporting portions 31, respectively, and a rotation allowing portion 250 connecting the left side shaft 210 and the right side shaft 220 at a vehicle width direction central portion of the vehicle body 1 and allowing the left side shaft 210 and the right side shaft 220 to rotate. Fixing portions 231 and 241 of the left side shaft 210, the right side shaft 220 and the shock absorber supporting portions 31 are arranged on a vehicle front side of the position of a rod axis of the shock absorber in the vicinities of the shock absorber supporting portions 31. The rotation allowing portion 250 is arranged offset to the vehicle rear side or the vehicle front side in relation to the fixing portions 231 and 241 of the left side shaft 210, the right side shaft 220 and the shock absorber supporting portions 31.
