PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a general-purpose release device capable of surely releasing the function of a speed limiter for an automobile. SOLUTION: The release device of the speed limiter is composed of: an F/V converter (15) for converting a vehicle speed pulse signal outputted from a rotation sensor (10) into a voltage signal; a fixed pulse generator (18) for always generating a pseudo pulse signal previously set to a lower target speed than the maximum limit speed; a comparator (16) for always comparing the voltage signals of the vehicle speed pulse signal and the pseudo pulse signal with each other; and a pulse switcher (19) which switches from the vehicle speed pulse signal to the pseudo pulse signal on the basis of the comparison result of the voltage signals matched with each other to output to an automatic transmission control computer (11). The release device of the speed limiter is installed in the middle of wire harness (14) for connecting the rotation sensor (10) and the automatic transmission control computer (11).
