<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile telephone device which can start a channel search without making a user operate a channel search button so as to wait in a mode of return to no-service area or at an optimal channel, and its channel search method and a program. <P>SOLUTION: The mobile telephone device includes an acceleration sensor which detects a vibration amount added to the mobile telephone device. A control means compares the vibration amount detected by the acceleration sensor with a preset first threshold value.
