PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the manufacturing cost of a race ring such as an outer ring 2, in turn a rolling bearing wherein the race ring is assembled, by efficiently machining race faces of outer ring races 6 and 6. SOLUTION: After hardening a part as a race face by heating, rough finish as a rough finish by a lathe using a cutting tool 18 is performed to the hardened part so as to form a shape approaching the race face. Thereafter, finish machining as grinding using a rotary grinding wheel is performed.
