PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic shock absorber with a pressure side damping force generation structure capable of setting an expansion pressure ratio especially in a low piston speed area to approximately 1:1 with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: This pneumatic shock absorber 1 comprises a communication path 9 communicating a piston side chamber 50 in a cylinder 3 and a reservoir chamber R and having a bottom side check valve 32 allowing only a flow from the piston side chamber to the reservoir chamber, and connection paths 19, 20 connecting the reservoir chamber and a rod side chamber 40 and having a head side check valve 20a allowing only a flow from the reservoir chamber to the rod side chamber. In this absorber, lubrication oil O is injected in the piston side chamber and the reservoir chamber, and working gas G is filled in the cylinder.
