Provided is a recording device (1) comprising recording means (11) for recording a data pattern in a recording medium (100), first control means (22) for interrupting the recording, reading means (11) for reading the data pattern recorded just before the interruption of the recording, thereby to acquire a reading signal, measuring means (19) for measuring the jitter of the reading signal, adjusting means (21) for adjusting the recording condition so that the jitter may satisfy a desired condition, and second control means (22) for reopening the recording of the data pattern by using the recording condition adjusted.
