<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problem of conventional curbs wherein vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and bicycles trip over a curb since the cross sectional structure of a road is so changed that the roadway and the side walk are flat and only the curb projects at the present time when emphasis is placed on barrier-free. <P>SOLUTION: The surface of the curb dividing side walks from a roadway is coated with a hydrophilic white paint with high brightness.
