PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mount a rotating shaft of a stirrer provided in a developer storage container, by an automated machine.

SOLUTION: The developing apparatus for an image forming apparatus includes the developer storage container 10 formed with an axial hole in one sidewall 21; the rotating shaft 40 shorter than a distance between the one sidewall of the developer storage container and the other sidewall 22 opposed to the one sidewall, and formed with a connecting hole 42 axially bored at one end; and a driving member 50 rotatably supported into the axial hole of the developer storage container and having a connecting shaft 52 inserted into the connecting hole of the rotating shaft. An assembly method of the developing apparatus includes steps of mounting a sealing member to the developer storage container, inserting the rotating shaft parallel into the developer storage container, positioning the rotating shaft, and inserting the connecting shaft of the driving member into the connecting hole of the rotating shaft from the outside of the one sidewall of the developer storage container through the sealing member.
