<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce various music pieces by utilizing a fragment of an object music piece other than a main music piece. <P>SOLUTION: In a music piece processing apparatus, a storage device 20 stores music tone data A of each fragment S of a music piece, and a feature amount F of each fragment S, for each of a plurality of music pieces. A similarity index calculation section 11 calculates a similarity index value R for feature amounts F of each main fragment Sm of the main music piece and each sub-fragment Ss other than the main fragment Sm. A selection section 17 selects a sub-fragment Ss for which the similarity index value R with the main fragment Sm indicates similarity, for each main fragment Sm of the main music piece. A processing section 18 processes the music tone data A of the main fragment Sm of the main music piece, on the basis of the music tone data A of the sub-fragment Ss which the selection section 17 has selected for the main fragment Sm.
