KNEE AIRBAG DEVICE ATTACHED TO COLUMN

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop an airbag door properly even when a column cover of a steering column enters an instrument panel comparatively deep.

SOLUTION: When a column cover 18 is arranged in the state where a part of the cover enters the inside of an opening 16 of the instrument panel 14 for column insertion, an opening 66 for expanding an airbag is formed in the bottom wall part 22B of a column lower cover 22, and it is closed by an airbag door 68, which is formed separately from the column lower cover 22. The airbag door 68 is configured to be developed to the vehicle rear side using the lower end part 68B' of a bent part 68B as the center of development.
