PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic component which can obtain a large maximum attenuation amount and can be downsized. SOLUTION: The electronic component includes: a flexible circuit board 80 for which a resistor pattern 83 and a common pattern 85 are formed in parallel, a conductor pattern 89 is connected to the end of the resistor pattern 83, the end of the conductor pattern 89 is turned to a terminal electrode part 93, and an auxiliary conductor pattern 97 arranged along the conductor pattern 89 is formed near the terminal electrode part 93 further; and a slider 41 which is provided with a first sliding sash 45a to be in slidable contact with the common pattern 85 and a second sliding sash 45b to be in slidable contact with the resistor pattern 83, the conductor pattern 89 and the auxiliary conductor pattern 97, wherein the second sliding sash 45b is abutted to the auxiliary conductor pattern 97 at the terminal abutting position. The terminal abutting position of the first sliding sash 45a to the common pattern 85 is set to a position separated from the terminal electrode part 93 more than the terminal abutting position of the second sliding sash 45b to the auxiliary conductor pattern 97.
