PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a limit switch for eliminating the existence of a clearance between a body case and a cover for sealing an opening portion of the body case. SOLUTION: The limit switch includes the case 2 having the opening portion 2a, microswitches 3, 5 built in the case 2, plungers 6, 7 for thrusting a bolt 13 provided outside the case 2 to turn the microswitches 3, 5 on/off, the cover 9 for sealing the opening portion 2a of the case 2, a fixing and sealing layer (a filler A) formed by sealing a space between the opening portion 2a of the case 2 and the outside face of the cover 9 with the filler, and holding grooves 9e, 9f for locking the fixing and sealing layer.
