PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a disturbed image from being displayed on a screen until tuning is completed though a disturbed image is displayed due to discontinuity of a signal state because a receiving signal changes whenever a channel to be tuned changes during automatic tuning of a television broadcast receiver. SOLUTION: A display switching control circuit 10 is provided with a reading memory control circuit 17 being a circuit for reading still image data from a tuner display memory circuit 9, an image signal switching circuit 18 for switching whether to read moving image data of an image processing buffer 6 or to read still image data from the reading memory control circuit 17, an internal synchronous signal generation circuit 19 that generates a synchronous signal used for reading the still-image data from the tuner display memory circuit 9, a synchronous signal switching circuit 20 for switching between an internal synchronous signal and an external synchronous signal, and a display control circuit 21 for outputting the read image data to a display device 11.
