PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide column base fixing structure of a steel column dispensing with a thick base plate and butt-welding to the steel column and absorbing seismic energy by the yield deformation of vertical ribs or anchor bolts. SOLUTION: A plurality of vertical ribs 2 having anchor bolt insertion parts 8 are arranged at the peripheral side face of a base part of the steel column 1 at spaces in the circumferential direction of the steel column 1. The tip parts of the respective vertical ribs 2 are fixed to the steel column 1, and the anchor bolts 11 fixed to foundation concrete 10 are inserted through the anchor bolt insertion parts 8 in the vertical ribs 2 to fix the vertical ribs 2 with nuts 12. The column base of the steel column is thereby anchored to the foundation concrete 10 through the anchor bolts 11 fixed to the foundation concrete 10, and tensile stress applied to the steel column 1 is transmitted to the foundation concrete 10 not through the base plate 9 but through the vertical ribs 2 and anchor bolts 11.
