PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adamantane derivative which can be suitably used for producing a cured product suitable as a sealing agent for an optical semiconductor, a sealing agent for an electronic circuit, an optoelectronic member (optical waveguide, optical communication lens, optical film etc.) and an adhesive used in the member, and has excellent transparency, optical characteristics such as (long-term) light resistance, (long-term) heat resistance, electric characteristics such as dielectric constant etc., and mechanical properties; and to provide a resin composition comprising the same, a sealing agent for a semiconductor, a sealing agent for an electronic circuit and an optoelectronic member using the resin composition. SOLUTION: The adamantane derivative is represented by the general formula (I) (wherein R<SP>1</SP>is a 1-10C alkyl group; R<SP>2</SP>-R<SP>6</SP>are each independently a hydrogen atom, a fluorine atom, a 1-4C alkyl group, a phenyl group or a 1-4C perfluoroalkyl group; x is an integer of 0-6; j is an integer of 1-4; k is an integer of 0-3; m is an integer of 1-5; j+k+m≤6; and when a plurality of R<SP>1</SP>s are present, R<SP>1</SP>s each may be the same or different).
