PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet conveying device capable of reducing the noise such as the tapping noise of a guide plate by a paper sheet when positioning the paper sheet and the collision noise of the paper sheet to conveying roller pairs and register roller pairs without impairing the conveyance of the paper sheet at low cost. SOLUTION: The paper sheet conveying device comprises a first roller pair 50 and a second roller pair 51 in which two rollers as cylindrical rotating bodies are arranged opposing their circumferential surfaces, a guide plate 52 having a papers sheet conveying surface for guiding fore ends in the conveying direction of a paper sheet 4 conveyed from the first roller pair 50 to the second roller pair 51, and having holes 16 therein, and a sound absorbing material 18 which is formed on a back side of the paper sheet conveying surface of the guide plate 52 to absorb the noise transmitting through the holes 16.
