PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convey a recording medium without waving the recording medium even if an amount of water contained in the recording medium increases. SOLUTION: The conveying device conveys the recording medium P to a recoding means provided to the recording apparatus as a first face of the recording medium P is at the obverse side, and thereafter the recording medium P conveys again to a recoding means as a second face of the recording medium P is at the obverse side. The conveying device has a conveying belt 31 which conveys the recording medium P by adsorbing the recording medium P with electric force generated by applying voltage to an electric conductor provided at the conveying device. Further, the conveying device has a control part which controls a voltage applied to the electric conductor so that the electric force generated when conveying the recording medium P as the second face of the recording medium P is at the obverse side is larger than the electric force generated when conveying the recording medium P as the first face of the recording medium P is at the obverse side.
