SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR NAVIGATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform guidance by displaying recommended route from a starting location to a destination on a map in an easy-to-understand manner for users weak in reading maps and having a poor sense of direction. SOLUTION: A navigation system provided with a display function for performing guidance about recommended routes on the basis of bird's-eye view data having information on a starting location and a destination and information on a recommended route between the starting location and the destination is provided with both: a bird's-eye view data generating part 4 for computing both a first vector formed by the starting location and the destination and a second vector formed by a transitional position on a recommended route to the starting location and the destination with the starting location and the destination fixed and performing data conversion processing on the bird's-eye view data in which the transitional location is matched with the starting location by matching the first vector with the second vector; and a display part 9 for fixing the transitional location matched with the starting location and the location of the destination and displaying a bird's-eye view map indicating the recommended route from the transitional location to the destination on a screen, based upon the bird's-eye view data converted by the bird's-eye view data generating part 4.
