PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for confirming a utilization port in which it can be easily confirmed which port is utilized by a device connected to a network having a plurality of ports. SOLUTION: The apparatus for confirming the utilization port is adapted to transmit identification data to a network device provided with a display section for displaying the receiving state of each of a plurality of ports by flickering while utilizing one of the ports, wherein the identification data are transmitted in such a way as to perform lighting on the display section of the network device in a predetermined cycle for visibly confirming the port to be utilized.
