PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save firmware data in a firmware unit in which a fault has occurred. SOLUTION: A duplicated firmware backup system includes a memory unit, a saving unit, a first firmware unit, a second firmware unit and a firmware control unit. When the first firmware unit is selected, the firmware control unit releases the selection of the first firmware unit when startup by the first firmware data fails, and then switches the firmware units so as to select the second firmware unit. The saving unit includes a first firmware data saving unit for saving the first firmware data into the memory unit, when the above switchover of the firmware unit has been carried out.
