PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device having improved heat generation efficiency by effectively using input electric power, even when using no core in a magnetic field generating means. SOLUTION: The fixing device includes: a magnetic field generating means formed into a coil form from a conductive wire; a heating means composed of at least a conductive body having the form of a hollow cylinder or comprising an endless belt, held so as to be freely rotated, and heated by a magnetic field generated by a magnetic field generating means; a press-contact means disposed in press-contact with the heating means; and a temperature measuring means disposed in the heating means and measuring the temperature of the heating means. The magnetic field generating means is disposed outside the heating means.
