PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a press felt, which achieves an excellent anti-compression property, also prevents the increase of time and process load, and does not use a special expensive loom, and has low production cost. SOLUTION: This press felt for papermaking, which is used in the pressing part of a papermaking machine having a base fabric 1 equipped with three-layered base fabric layers 5a-5c integrally woven on the loom, is provided by having weft yarns (contact-bonding weft yarns) 4a-4f, moving between the three base fabric layers 5a-5c for fastening the base fabric layers with each other, and weaving the weft yarns interchanging at a spaced interval corresponding to a plurality of yarns 3a-3c so as to constitute the base fabric layer.
