<p>Active carbon for capacitor and a method for preparing the same are provided. The active carbon is obtained by charring bamboo as raw material, activating, water-washing, and drying. The method comprises following steps: selecting raw material, breaking the bamboo to grain size of 5-10cm; charring for 1~2 hours at the temperature of 400~550°C; mixing charred material with sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide in the weight ratio of 1:1.0~2.0:0.5~1.3; activating for 2~3 hours at the temperature of 700~800°C; cooling activated material in water; water-washing, filtrating; neutralizing by adding acid, adjusting pH value of water-washed solution to 6-7; and drying. The active carbon has large specific surface area, good adsorption properties, suitable pore distribution, and low cost. The active carbon can be used for electrode of electric double-layer capacitor.</p> |
