PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a punch press capable of working a long hole with a linear shape or a curved shape without joints. SOLUTION: The punch press comprises: a punch working means 10; a sheet material feeding means 13; upper and lower tool supports 2, 3; a die indexing means 8; and a working controlling means 18. The upper and lower tool supports 2, 3 are provided with: a punch 4 and a die 5 for opening punch holes in a sheet material W; and a joint removing means 6 and a joint removing die 7. Nibbling working control and joint removing working control are performed by the working controlling means 18. In the nibbling working control, a plurality of punch holes are continuously formed using the punch 4 and the die 5 indexed to the punch position, thus a long hole elongating in the flat face direction is formed at the sheet material W. In the joint removing working control, joints as small projections formed at the patch part of each punch hole in the long hole are removed using the joint removing tool 6 and the joint removing die 7 indexed to the punch position.
